  2. Make it easier to bulk relocate a mix of bottles

The phone app is great for certain things, among them scanning barcodes on DYMO labels. The Web interface is great for certain things, such as bulk editing of inventory records. So far, I'm stating the obvious. However, I think there's an opportunity for more synergy between the two: Here's the scenario that I think can be improved upon: I was moving four cases of wine from one bin to another. Two of the cases contained recently purchased wine from a case sale. To change the bin to the new one took almost no time at all. The other two were a mix of bottles from various wineries and purchase dates. I had to scan each bottle and relocate. The whole workflow would have been improved if there were a feature on the mobile app that allowed me to simply create a list of bottles by scanning a bunch of bottles, one after the other, with as few intervening user gestures as possible, save the list and then retrieve it in the Web interface, where bulk editing is highly productive. If this capability is already available, I haven't found it, so I thought I should suggest it. From Niklas

  3. Shop button opens up wine searcher but doesn’t autofill wine description/ name

clicking the shop button used to open wine searcher with the name and vintage filled out but it simply just opens the wine-searcher app and stays on front page

  4. Add "I like it, don't like it, or neutral" to review flow

From Scott: There may be alternative categories to like/dont/neutral that work better--I'm not sure. I like the general idea because (1) I don't necessarily want to score someone's life's work as a 70 if I dislike it, (2) I don't always want to spend the mental energy to come up with a score, especially where at a dinner and trying to enjoy company, and (3) I want to be able to quickly and easily sort among wines I like without necessarily caring if the wine got an 89 or a 91. There is also a distinction between wines that are 100-point examples of a style that I dislike. I don't want to score that objectively excellent wine with my subjective 70-point score. I don't have a way to distinguish quality from my personal preference.

  5. Add personalised Tags to wine

In addition to location/bin, would be helpful if we can add multiple Tags to wine for organising cellar and to look up in future. Example of tags "Day-to-day Drinking" "Business Dinner" "To Sell" "For Cooking" "For XYZ Parties" etc.

  6. Evolution

what would be awesome is having an IA feature like? -I have big wine lover that love old burgundy, which bootle do you suggest that I take from my cellar? Or -I am cooking butter chicken, which bottle do you suggest that I take from my cellar? Etc

  7. Associate a Recipe Name when a wine is Drunk from the cellar

We have a collection of dinner recipes that we enjoy with wine. It would be nice to be able to select or add a new Recipe Name when we Drink a wine. A second feature is to be able to search or sort wines in the Cellar by Recipe Name.

  8. Compulsory public ratings - I do hope this is a bug!

I just opened a bottle of wine. Before I could mark it as consumed in the Android app (v. 4.8) I was forced to submit a public rating. I really didn't want to do this and therefore wrote some angry words. Please tell me that this is a bug and not a deliberate policy. If you try to make wine reviews compulsory then they will lose all value, as a large proportion will consist of a random rating and a rant against CellarTracker.

  9. New App Has Made Cellar Management / Inventory Analysis More Cumbersome Than Used To Be

I want to be able to relatively quickly/efficiently scan across my cellar inventory (~1000 bottles), sort down to a sub-group (e.g origin region) and then view things like β€œReady to drink” status or drinking window dates across that group … with the results all on one page (no need to include pictures of the bottles/labels which frustratingly just takes up too much space on the page when you want to look across a bunch of sort results all at once). The web page interface is a lot easier for me be quickly productive with instead of the new app. Until these challenges are fixed, I will continue to avoid the app in favor of the web page where possible.

This is not a functionality idea, but something that is very important to me as a user.

  13. Provide option to turn off 'Grow your network' section

I'd like to see less emphasis on the 'Grow your network' section on the home screen, please. I'd rather see more information about my collection or other wines, I'm not interested in networking - there are other apps for that. While some people may like that feature, it should have an ability to be removed from the home screen or moved down to the bottom of the screen. Thanks.

  14. Visualize the optimal drinking window per wine

From Chris: Enhanced Drinking Window Info: Would be amazing to show graphically for each wine the bell curve of the optimal drinking winding assuming proper storage. It could update dynamically based on both critic and user ratings.

  15. Stop trying to make this a social site!

while I totally benefit from the input of other oneophiles, would prefer if CT focused on things like easier bottle additions- barcode or UPC - Awesome resource for wine lovers, thanks!
