From Chris: Enhanced Drinking Window Info: Would be amazing to show graphically for each wine the bell curve of the optimal drinking winding assuming proper storage. It could update dynamically based on both critic and user ratings.

Visual option to show where my wine is in the cellar so I don’t have to count bins or rows etc. could be simple grid or complex 3D with label images. Just some way to replicate the design of my physical cellar into digital app.

Feature suggestion: How about adding an Offline mode in the mobile app? Currently, you simply cannot load the app if there is no data connection where you are. I understand there is no way of supporting full functionality of the app for all the stuff that requires direct/real-time access to the database but I would find it very useful if you could use the label search function say to capture label images / add some tasting or other notes while in a location without cell service (the obvious example being in an underground cellar at home or at a producer but also on a plane or wherever there might not be cell coverage (which still happens quite a bit at wineries in Europe at least!) The data could then be uploaded at a later time when a data connection is available again, for matching of the captured labels to the database for instance.

Better reporting support in app including viewing and creating new reports/saved filters in app

I wish the wine definition section would include its percent alcohol. I realize this information isn’t always readily available, but when possible it would be nice. TL;DR: I find myself becoming increasingly sensitive to alcohol levels in wine. As heat levels are rising in many parts of the world, more and more wines have very high alcohol levels. It’s becoming an important factor in my purchasing decision, as it affects taste and balance. Thanks.

what about an advice, from the pro ideally, if the wine (i.e. the considered bottle) should be decanted or not, how much time ahead, or any good advice ahead of opening the bottle? Can be simple; decant / not decant / open 3 hours before serving / etc….. Thx for this app that i discovered only recently but really enjoy.

From colinscellar Hi CT beta team, One thing I like to do when considering buying a wine is getting a rough sense of what the community thinks of a particular vintage by searching for a wine without specifying a vintage. In the old CT, I get this view, and e.g. I can quickly see that the 2015 seems to be considered a weak year compared to the 2014 and 2016 either side of it: In the new bet app, doing the same search I get this view which shows me the label but no score information until I specify a vintage: I would like it if I could see the scores across vintages on a single screen rather than having to click into each vintage.

As a user, I would like to vote for the image that I would like to see represent any given wine, so that only high quality photos represent wines in my list view. Benefit: This will remove low quality/poorly taken photos making for a better viewing experience

Please add some mechanism to flag bottles that have been opened (and ideally also the fraction remaining). In multiple situations, I may keep a bottle in my”cellar” and drink it slowly over time. Examples include: spirits, fortified wines (ports, madeiras, etc.), and wines using a preservation system like nitrogen gas or a Coravin. To accommodate this gracefully, you’d need to do a few things: add a “bottle is open” flag allow me to enter consumption notes without marking the bottle consumed (nice to have) allow me to enter multiple tasting notes on the same bottle — I.e. enter notes today when I open it and first try it, and then enter notes again a week later when I have another glass (nice to have) add a field for fraction of bottle remaining (nice to have) display “first opened” date and “most recent consumption” dates (essential) there’s no point in entering all this if you don’t also: display the above info when browsing through the cellar (I.e., in the “restaurant style wine list” — as that’s the only way to actually browse)

FR to be able to save or similar a producer to lists or suchlike. I often hear about or are recommended producers without necessarily referencing a particular wine. Instead of having to do workarounds with adding dummy wines it would be convenient to list the producers to reference.

Ideally, if I’ve posted a public review, and a user comments on it, replying directly to their comment would be useful. This could be done via a reply feature or via tagging their username so that they receive a notification of the reply. This would allow for intelligent conversation in regard to the reviewed wine in question.

It would be great if CellarTracker showed the specific grape breakdown for blended wines—like “40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot, 25% Petit Verdot” instead of just “Red Blend.” This would help us better understand what’s in their wine, make more informed choices, and allow filtering by individual grapes even when they’re part of a blend.

We frequently purchase wines through subscriptions or club memberships. Some are direct via wineries, some are third-parties. Being able to manage these subscriptions and their deliveries would really help us gain insight into which ones provide the most value and are worth keeping.

From Albert Attachments - most wines I get from wine clubs come with notes, pairing, recipes… I'd love the ability to capture them with my phone and attached them bottle entries.
