Stop trying to make this a social site!
while I totally benefit from the input of other oneophiles, would prefer if CT focused on things like easier bottle additions- barcode or UPC - Awesome resource for wine lovers, thanks!

Display the full wine review + comments in the following section
The "following" section is a good idea but it currently does not make any sense as it is structured. It shows comments from people we follow, but the comment comes out of the blue: I do not understand the comment as I did not see the review nor the previous comments. It would make much more sense to display he review + all comments, for the review/comments that was/were written by someone that we follow. We could read the full conversation and it would prompt more réaction from readers and for sure trigger more comments, which is surely wished by such app that is seeking to emphasize on the community expérience/expérience.

Provide option to turn off 'Grow your network' section
I'd like to see less emphasis on the 'Grow your network' section on the home screen, please. I'd rather see more information about my collection or other wines, I'm not interested in networking - there are other apps for that. While some people may like that feature, it should have an ability to be removed from the home screen or moved down to the bottom of the screen. Thanks.

Visualize the optimal drinking window per wine
From Chris: Enhanced Drinking Window Info: Would be amazing to show graphically for each wine the bell curve of the optimal drinking winding assuming proper storage. It could update dynamically based on both critic and user ratings.

Let me rate wines/write comments WITHOUT MAKING THEM PUBLIC
Cellar Tracker is built to help me track my cellar. PLEASE give me a way to record my own thoughts on a bottle that I just drank — rating and comments — WITHOUT making this public for every other cellar tracker user to see. It’s PRIVATE if I want to remind myself that my wife thought this wine was a little too sweet or that I drank it at my cousin’s birthday party… but that information will definitely be relevant next month when I’m trying to decide whether to open the next bottle of it or something else. And it’s frankly nobody else’s business that I liked Wine A but not Wine B. It’s fine if some CT users want to exhibit their reviews like social media “influencers”, but it feels really really sketchy to make that mandatory.

Ability to know where in your cellar you have room for more bottlex
I have 90 bottle wine cellar which has 9 shelves. It would nice if I could tell app how many bottles a shelf can store and then easily find shelf(s) that have free spot when adding new bottle

Add a flag / tag to bottles I want to drink
When I review my collection to identify the bottles to drink in the next 3-12 months, I would like to be able to flag some bottles I would like to move out of my cellar soon. The development would enable to add custom tags to a wine in my cellar, and to sort/ filter by tag.

Screen layout
in the"Ready to Drink" screen you show those wines ready to drink along with # in stock and # consumed. To the left of this information is total bottles. So reading left to right, you see total (in stock + consumed) then # in stock, then # consumed. Every other screen only shows # in stock, which really is just fine. I find I have to focus on this because I am expecting # on hand only -after all, I am looking at this screen to see what should be drunk next, not how many I have already consumed. If you want to keep # consumed it would seem more logical to show # on hand first then # consumed then total #. This would be consistent with the math formula of 1 + 2 = 3. Also, when looking at "ready to drink" screen, # in stock is more important than first seeing the total of in stock + total already consumed.

Dark mode please
This is not a functionality idea, but something that is very important to me as a user.

Add "I like it, don't like it, or neutral" to review flow
From Scott: There may be alternative categories to like/dont/neutral that work better--I'm not sure. I like the general idea because (1) I don't necessarily want to score someone's life's work as a 70 if I dislike it, (2) I don't always want to spend the mental energy to come up with a score, especially where at a dinner and trying to enjoy company, and (3) I want to be able to quickly and easily sort among wines I like without necessarily caring if the wine got an 89 or a 91. There is also a distinction between wines that are 100-point examples of a style that I dislike. I don't want to score that objectively excellent wine with my subjective 70-point score. I don't have a way to distinguish quality from my personal preference.

Tag consumed wines to drink again. Allowing the user to easily see the wines to purchase again.
Currently when I consume a bottle I can add a note if I would purchases it again or not. But there is not easy way to pull this back up. There is no tag that I can add/select that says purchase again. If this feature was available a user could pull up wines they enjoyed to repurchase. Now I have to keep track of this separately outside the app.

Food Pairings
I want to be able to add/save food pairings for a wine as well as see what the community thinks are good food pairings for the wine I'm looking at within the cellartracker mobile app.

Drinkability scores and "drink between" windows are wrong for NV wines
There are lots of wines that do not have a vintage year but do have a finite drinking window. (Most Champagnes and sakes, for example!) Currently, these wines have complete nonsense in the "drinkability score" and "drink by" window. For example I often see bottles whose "drink by" window ended before this bottle was actually bottled. It is incorrect to say that, e.g., ALL bottles of Veuve Clicquot NV have the same drink by window. A bottle that was bottled last year will improve a little and then last longer than an NV bottled 10years ago. Instead of showing wrong information (and, e.g., adding lots of noise/mess to my "drinkability report), CellarTracker should do one of the following: A) remove "drinkability score" and ready-to-drink windows from NV wines B) Add a concept of "NV but bottled on date X" (perhaps the purchase date if the true bottling date is unknown) and for NV wines calculate drinkability and drink-bys based on number of years since bottling date [preferred] Thanks!
